Cairns Student Hub opens a space for international students

The Cairns Student Hub was officially opened today by the Honorable Curtis Pitt Treasurer of Queensland, Deputy Mayor of Cairns Cr Terry James and Study Cairns President Carol Doyle. Yirrganydji Elder Jeanette Singleton performed a Welcome to Country in front of approximately 120 Study Cairns members and partners, supporters, students and volunteers.

The Cairns Student Hub is managed by Study Cairns as a supportive space that aims to enhance the international student experience in Cairns. Supported by Trade and Investment Queensland, Cairns Regional Council, Study Cairns members and partners, the Student Hub forms the centre piece of a thriving student community in Cairns. Located in the heart of Cairns city, the Student Hub provides a welcoming space for students to connect with fellow students, colleagues and the wider student community.

The Cairns Student Hub is an integral part of the Cairns International Student Engagement Program which improves the experience of international students studying and living in Cairns. It provides a connected network of touch points for students to feel supported and able to make the most of their time in the region.
The facilities at the Cairns Student Hub have been designed by Cairns education and business leaders who understand student needs.

“We encourage alumni, academic and professional staff, Study Cairns members and industry partners to engage with the student community through the Student Hub. Through the Hub we aim to offer learning opportunities, networking and social events throughout the year,” said Study Cairns President Carol Doyle.
