  • The Premier joined businesses for the signing of eight Memorandums Of Understanding (MOU) with Chinese trading partners at the China International Import Expo.
  • A $6 million beef deal has also been secured, meaning more jobs for Queensland manufacturers

Queensland businesses are already benefitting from the state’s largest trade mission to China, as $45 million in trade partnerships were secured this week.

The Premier witnessed the signing of eight MOU’s at the 6th China International Import Expo.

The deals lock in agreements between Australian and Chinese counterparts to secure ongoing trade between regions – meaning more good jobs in Queensland.

Companies signing MOUs ranged from water, wine and wellness to skills and training, including the National Institute of Education and Technology Group and TAFE Queensland.

A deal valued at $6 million has also been established which will see Australian beef on the shelves of over 500 Chinese supermarkets.

This signals a confidence in Queensland goods, services and education as the relationship between Queensland and China stabilises.
